Marley & Me

Hi! I am Renee and I live in Seattle's Lower Queen Anne. I have been working on sourdough for the many a year, and consistently throughout this last summer. I have always been crowned a great chef working with many catering companies, mostly in sales, connecting great food to people. I had the opportunity to learn tips and tricks from other renowned chefs. Throughout my career and passion alongside me was my dog Marley, including in my baking and catering adventures. He was my soul dog and little helper.
Marley was a Chiweenie, part Chihuahua, and part Dachshund. He was dappled and had one blue eye and one brown. He would listen to me talk about my day and talk about what I was doing in the kitchen. Marley would like to be snuggled in, buried under blankets or amongst blankets, so he would watch me from the couch mostly. He would always come to the kitchen to investigate, and had the timing to know when it was ready to sample what I was baking or cooking! He would signal his approval, or dislike (which was not much lol).
Sadly, my 17-year-old soul dog crossed the rainbow bridge. I was heartbroken and depressed. I threw myself into baking, working on this daily, being back in the kitchen helped me cope with this loss. It was a new challenge to perfect and dedicate my triumphs to my departed kitchen mate! I began experimenting in October and shaping the loaves into pumpkins. They were SO cute I decided to post them to Facebook to see if I could sell them. It was a success and Marley’s Barkey was launched!
I am very proud of my products and I continue to come up with new bakery delights. I offer multiple inclusion loaves, regular rounds, or FUN seasonal specialties! My offerings are ever expanding! Marley’s memory is in each creation. I look forward to sharing my great bread with you.
Thank you for your support!
