Bread Loaf

Hi!

I'm Renee, and I live in Seattle’s Lower Queen Anne. My passion for sourdough has been years in the making, but this past summer, I truly dedicated myself to perfecting it. Cooking has always been second nature to me—I’ve worked with many catering companies, primarily in sales, where I connected people with incredible food. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of learning from some amazing chefs, picking up invaluable tips and tricks.

Through it all, my beloved dog Marley was by my side. He was more than just a pet—he was my little helper, my kitchen companion, and my soul dog.

Marley was a Chiweenie, a mix of Chihuahua and Dachshund, with a beautiful dappled coat and one blue eye and one brown. He listened patiently as I talked about my day and shared my kitchen experiments. He loved burrowing into blankets on the couch, always keeping a watchful eye on me. But when it was time to sample something fresh from the oven, he knew exactly when to appear—ready to give his enthusiastic approval (or on rare occasions, his disapproval!).

Sadly, at 17 years old, Marley crossed the rainbow bridge. Losing him was devastating. To cope, I threw myself into baking, spending every day in the kitchen. It became my way to heal, a challenge to master, and a tribute to my sweet kitchen sidekick.

In October, I started experimenting with shaping sourdough loaves into pumpkins, and they turned out so adorable that I decided to share them on Facebook. The response was incredible, and just like that, Marley’s Bakery was born!

I’m so proud of what I’ve created and continue to dream up new bakery delights. I offer classic sourdough rounds, unique inclusion loaves, and fun, seasonal specialties—always expanding and always baked with Marley’s memory in mind.

I can’t wait to share my bread with you. Thank you for your support!
